Privacy Policy

• Account & company data: name, work email, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), company name, role (GC, Crew, PEO), memberships.
• Profile & marketplace content: trades, skills, service areas, crew size, portfolio photos, job posts, bids/proposals, messages, and reviews.
• Compliance documents: verification evidence you or your PEO upload, such as certificates of insurance, workers’ compensation coverage, and licenses. We store these to display verification status and maintain an audit trail.
• Platform billing records: Nail (bid credit) purchases and usage, featured/promotion orders, and PEO finder-fee invoices. We do not process wages or payroll: payment for work flows GC → PEO → Crew, and payroll data lives with the PEO as employer-of-record.
• Technical data: log and device information needed for security and operation (IP address, browser, pages viewed, timestamps).

• Operate the marketplace: matching, bidding, messaging, notifications, and search.
• Surface compliance: show verification and document status to counterparties you engage with, and keep an audit trail of compliance events.
• Bill platform fees: Nails, featured listings, promotion, and PEO finder fees.
• Protect the platform: fraud prevention, abuse detection, and security logging.
• Improve the product and, with your consent where required, send marketing communications.

• With other users: your public profile, listings, reviews, and, for parties you engage with, your verification/compliance status. Directory teasers show limited company info to logged-out visitors.
• With service providers: hosting, email delivery, and payment processing for platform fees (e.g. card processing for Nail purchases). Providers act under contract and only for our instructions.
• With PEOs: engagement details needed for the PEO to act as employer-of-record for a job you're part of.
• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• When legally required: to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights and safety.

We keep account and marketplace records while your account is active and as needed for legitimate business purposes. Compliance documents and audit-trail records are retained for the periods required to evidence verification history, after which they are deleted or anonymized. You may request deletion of your account; some records (e.g. invoices, audit-trail entries) must be retained where the law requires.

Passwords are hashed (never stored or emailed in plain text), sessions are revocable server-side, and access to compliance documents is role-restricted. No system is perfectly secure. Report concerns to security@piecerates.com.

• Access, correct, or export your profile and company data from your settings.
• Delete your account (subject to legally required retention).
• Opt out of marketing email at any time; transactional email (bids, engagements, compliance alerts) is part of the service.
• Depending on your state, you may have additional rights (e.g. under the CCPA/CPRA). Contact us to exercise them.

PieceRates is a business platform for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
